IR-S2 Infrared Classroom Soundfield System
The IR-S2 is an all-in-one infrared classroom soundfield system with a built-in receiver, 30 W Class D amplifier and two column speakers. It supports two infrared microphones and a presenter remote simultaneously, and covers classrooms up to 100 m².
- Installs with a single power connection — the built-in receiver, amplifier and speakers are ready to use as soon as the unit is switched on.
- Two infrared microphones and one presenter remote can operate at the same time, with no frequency pairing or channel matching.
- A built-in USB digital sound card supports hybrid teaching, classroom recording and online broadcasting.
Overview
Key features
- Installs with a single power connection — the built-in receiver, amplifier and speakers are ready to use as soon as the unit is switched on.
- Two infrared microphones and one presenter remote can operate at the same time, with no frequency pairing or channel matching.
- A built-in USB digital sound card supports hybrid teaching, classroom recording and online broadcasting.
- An RJ45 expansion port and RS-232 control interface allow additional infrared sensors and third-party central control integration.
- Ultra-wide-angle infrared sensor array covers classrooms up to 100 m² with stable, interference-free audio.
The IR-S2 is an all-in-one infrared classroom soundfield system designed to make every teacher's voice reach the back of the room without clipping, feedback or a worn headset. The receiver, DSP tone adjuster, Class D amplifier, feedback suppressor and two column speakers are built into a single aluminum housing, so installation needs nothing more than a power connection.
Two infrared microphones and one presenter remote can be used at the same time. Because audio travels over infrared light instead of radio frequencies, there is no channel pairing, no frequency coordination between neighbouring classrooms, and no interference from Wi-Fi or mobile networks.
Built for modern classrooms
- Hybrid teaching ready — the USB digital sound card lets the system act as a classroom audio interface for video-conference lessons, lecture capture and online broadcasting.
- Room-scale coverage — 24 ultra-wide-angle infrared sensing diodes and an expansion RJ45 sensor port maintain a stable link in rooms up to 100 m².
- Integration-friendly — RS-232 control and a 1/4" microphone input with 48 V phantom power connect the system to central controllers, wired microphones and existing AV equipment.
- Clear speech, low distortion — a 50 Hz–20 kHz frequency response and 0.05% THD keep speech natural at comfortable volume.
Typical installations include primary and secondary classrooms, kindergarten activity rooms, language labs and corporate training spaces. For larger rooms, pair the IR-S2 with additional infrared sensors or upgrade to a higher-power DW-series system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which rooms is the IR-S2 designed for?
The IR-S2 is typically installed in classroom, primary & secondary school, hybrid learning, training room. Room size, ceiling height and speaker layout determine the final configuration — send us a floor plan and our team will recommend a layout.
How many infrared channels does the IR-S2 support?
The IR-S2 offers 2 selectable infrared channels. Several microphones can operate in the same room on separate channels; match each microphone and receiver to the same channel to avoid cross-talk.
What coverage does the IR-S2 provide?
The rated coverage is ≤100 m². Infrared coverage depends on sensor placement and room geometry; an expansion sensor can be added where the room has shadowed areas.
What certifications and warranty are available for the IR-S2?
Seekika Audio supplies CE, RoHS and FCC compliance documentation for its classroom audio products. Classroom audio products carry a standard 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects, with extended coverage available on project orders.
