Primary School Classroom Soundfield Rollout

A municipal primary school replaced portable voice amplifiers with infrared soundfield systems across 48 classrooms, giving every room consistent speech coverage without frequency coordination.
The Challenge
- Teachers were using portable voice amplifiers that distorted speech and were often left uncharged.
- Pupils in the back rows struggled to hear over classroom noise, particularly in double-loaded corridors.
- The school wanted a room-by-room solution that staff could operate without AV training.
The Solution
- A four-room pilot with the IR-S2 all-in-one system established speaker height, angle and volume settings for the school’s standard classroom layout.
- Each classroom received a wall-mounted IR-S2, a pendant microphone and a dual-docking charging cradle.
- The expansion speaker terminal was used in six larger rooms to add a second pair of speakers.
The Result
48classrooms equipped
4weeks from pilot to handover
0frequency licences required
The school standardised on infrared across the campus. Teachers collect a charged microphone at the start of the day and dock it at the end; no channel pairing or volume recalibration is needed between rooms.
