Vocational College Training Rooms
A vocational college equipped 24 training rooms with infrared soundfield systems and portable microphones for instructors moving between workshop benches.
The Challenge
- Workshop equipment created high background noise, and instructors frequently moved away from the front of the room.
- Rooms were shared between departments, so microphones had to be easy to hand over and recharge.
- The college wanted a solution that facilities staff could install without specialist AV contractors.
The Solution
- IR-S2 systems were wall-mounted in each room, with the microphone stored in a dock beside the door.
- A second IR-630H microphone was supplied for each department so instructors could swap rooms without carrying equipment.
- Installation used the existing power outlets and speaker mounts, avoiding cable runs through workshop walls.
