Teacher Training College Lecture Halls

Twelve lecture halls at a teacher training college were equipped with infrared handheld microphones and separate receiver/amplifier racks, replacing unreliable RF systems.
The Challenge
- Existing RF handheld microphones suffered from dropouts and required frequency coordination between halls.
- Lecturers walked into the audience, taking the microphone out of the fixed receiver’s coverage.
- Battery failures mid-lecture were a recurring complaint from faculty.
The Solution
- IR-630H microphones were supplied in handheld mode, with pendant lanyards for lecturers who preferred hands-free use.
- Each hall received an infrared receiver and amplifier rack with line output to the existing ceiling speakers.
- Charging cradles were installed in the lecture podium so microphones are docked between sessions.
The Result
12halls upgraded
8 hmicrophone runtime per charge
0cross-hall interference
Infrared keeps each lecture’s audio inside its own hall, so adjacent lectures no longer interfere. The 8-hour battery covers a full teaching day, and the podium cradle makes charging part of the room routine.
