Kindergarten and Early Years Classroom Audio

Twenty-six early-years rooms were equipped with low-level soundfield reinforcement so staff could speak calmly to children across activity zones without raising their voices.
The Challenge
- Rooms are divided into activity zones, so staff speak from several positions rather than one teaching point.
- High ceilings and soft furnishings absorbed sound unevenly between zones.
- Equipment had to be out of reach of young children and free of small detachable parts.
The Solution
- IR-S2 systems were mounted above child height with speakers angled down into each activity zone.
- SP-SH403 speakers were added in the four largest rooms to cover the quiet reading corner.
- Microphones were stored in a locked wall dock that staff can reach but children cannot.
The Result
26early-years rooms
3activity zones covered per room
0raised-voice instruction
Staff report speaking more calmly through the day, and the system is used for group stories as well as routine instructions across activity zones.
